At LindenCraft we pride ourselves on our designs and thoughtful use of space, but we also truly love the art of renovation. Unlike many Ottawa contractors who ‘build and be gone’; for LindenCraft it is more about leaving a legacy of good craftsmanship that can be enjoyed for many years to come. People who appreciate good value and longevity are drawn to us, as we are drawn to them. In order to make this meeting possible we strive to have open communication with our customers and keep them informed of the process from pre design to final paint stroke.
Our project process goes as follows:
01
Explore your options
From your initial phone call or email inquiry, we can figure out you basic renovation requirements. At this stage, we can offer you ideas and options to consider for your project and give you a rough idea of cost. You can decide at this point if you would like us to provide you with a detailed estimate.
02
Your no-obligation estimate
LindenCraft’s principal builder will arrange a time with you to visit your home in order to assess the amount of work involved in the renovation project and the available budget. Even if you are not yet sure of exactly what you want, we will be able to offer you guidance and provide you with some different options. We understand that you may wish to compare estimates with other companies and we are happy to provide you with other names in the industry.
03
Design phase
We see ourselves as a creative company, and strive for the best possible custom solutions. That means we want to learn all about your work/life flow and what’s important to you in your home. The more knowledge we can gather, the better and more customized your renovation will be. We will present you with an initial design for review, and then continue to amend that until you are satisfied with the final design solution. Designs and estimates are preliminary until the contract signing stage when it can be confirmed that everything fits within your financial budget.
04
Project sign-off
Many of our clients prefer our all-inclusive project approach. That means your estimate includes all of the materials, including flooring, wall tile, counter tops, cabinetry, plumbing fixtures, lighting and accessories. However, we are also able to tailor the estimate for select services if you prefer. Before the sign-off, we will also work out the schedule of work and timings on each phase. Once an agreement has been reached, the fun part begins.
05
Deconstruction phase
We treat our work in a professional manner. That is why we always refer to deconstruction rather than demolition when we get a space ready for new renovations. Going hog wild with hammers, chainsaws, and heavy equipment makes for good and dramatic television shows, but it does not show care to the existing building. We deconstruct very carefully so that we can explore and view the structure and determine the best way to proceed with the renovation. It also allows us to spot problems and notify out customers of what we have observed and if we think remedial action may be required. Some of our customers have referred to us as the Sherlock Holmes of renovations.
06
Build phase
The build phase includes everything from the flooring, walls, cabinetry, plumbing and final paint. Our schedule of work is methodically laid out and communicated to you so that you are aware of what is being done at all times.
Should a situation arise where a change from the original plan needs to happen, we will present you with options and any additional information so that you can stay in control of the project. Because you will be working with the same team from start to finish, your builder can provide you with more informed recommendations and updates throughout this process.
07
Touch ups
We’re not happy until you’re happy. During the first few days of testing out your new room, you may notice some things that you would like tweaked. LindenCraft considers this to be a natural part of any process and will happily make any required amendments.
08
Stay in touch!
We form personal relationships with most of our clients, so you can be sure we will remember you in the future! Should you need to contact us about any past work, maintenance or repair information, please don’t hesitate to give us a call.
